My name is Joshua, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I would have to ask strangers for help. Life has humbled me in ways I never saw coming, and right now I’m simply trying to keep myself together while taking care of the one person who has always stood by me — my mother.

Since my father passed away in 2013, our world has never truly recovered. He was the backbone of our family, and when he was gone, it felt like the ground beneath us disappeared. My mom has been struggling with her health ever since, and over the last few years her condition has slowly worsened. She needs proper medical care, and as her son, it devastates me every day knowing I can’t provide it the way she deserves.

I’ve tried everything within my power to keep us afloat. I have taken jobs whenever I could, but I struggle to keep them because of transportation issues and because I am my mom’s only caregiver. Every time I start finding my footing, something pulls me back down. I’ve attempted to start businesses, sometimes partnering with people I trusted, only to later discover I was being robbed, used, or misled. Money I worked hard for was stolen. Opportunities I believed in were taken advantage of. The little progress I made kept getting taken away, and all the while my mother’s health continued to decline.

We tried selling a piece of land she owns, hoping it would give us a fresh start, but the land ended up being occupied by squatters, and buyers walked away. We’ve been stuck ever since, with no income, no way to sell the property, and growing health concerns that I can’t ignore.

Right now, I am asking for help — not a large sum, just enough to get back on stable ground. With $700–$1000, I would be able to get my mom the medical attention she urgently needs, pay for transport, buy her medication, and stabilize our situation long enough for me to restart work without the fear of leaving her unattended. This amount would give me the chance to breathe again, to stand up again, and to fight for a future where I no longer have to watch my mother suffer simply because we can’t afford care.

I am not asking for luxury. I am not asking for comfort. I am asking for a lifeline — a small push toward rebuilding the life that keeps slipping through my fingers.
