Hi, I’m Kamal. I used to work in the merchant navy as an Able Seaman, and for a time, my family life was stable. But everything changed when my father passed away. I had to step away from my job to handle his insurance matters since my mother, now elderly, was unable to do so.

Once everything was settled, I rejoined work, but I had to leave again—this time because my mother’s health was declining, and she needed me. When I finally tried to return, the pandemic hit, and life spiraled further. The financial struggles began, and despite my efforts, the money I had saved slowly ran out.

I took a loan to stay afloat, and though I’ve managed to pay off half ($2,000), the remaining debt is weighing heavily on me. Covering my mother’s medical bills and daily expenses with just part-time jobs has become overwhelming. I never imagined I’d be in this situation—I’ve always given when I could, but I never thought I’d have to ask for help.

I don’t know if this is a test from God, but I do know that I’m trying my hardest. If you find it in your heart to help in any way—big or small—it would mean everything to me. I just want to clear this debt and continue taking care of my mother, as she has done so much for me.
