Story

Hi everyone,

I am reaching out today because I have hit a wall, and for the sake of my son, I am putting my pride aside to ask for help. For years, I’ve felt like I was running on empty, but becoming a mum changed everything. Now, I need a little bit of support to get us through a sudden financial crisis and build the stable life my baby deserves.

The Background

Four years ago, I lost my mum to cancer. Instead of grieving, I poured all my energy into supporting my two autistic brothers and threw myself into working 80-hour weeks. I completely neglected myself, struggling heavily with body dysmorphia and turning to alcohol to cope with the pain.

A year ago, after ending a 13-year relationship and trying to start over, the pressure became too much. I suffered a severe mental breakdown and attempted to take my own life.

The Turning Point

While recovering in the hospital, I discovered a miracle: I was pregnant. A switch flipped in my head. I knew I had a little soul depending on me, and I committed 100% to my recovery.

My son arrived, and he quite literally saved my life. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Navigating UK maternity pay (£750 a month) was incredibly difficult, but I pinched pennies and made it work because my priority was his well-being.

Where I Am Now

Nine months later, I was eager to get back to work to provide for my son. Tragically, returning to the company I had dedicated 13 years of my life to was a nightmare. I faced toxic comments and isolation from colleagues, with people insinuating I had faked my mental illness. The environment caused a massive relapse, resulting in an hour-long panic attack in my car.

When my doctor signed me off for my own safety, my employer stripped away my company sick pay. Left with just £400 a month to survive on, I was forced to resign for the sake of my mental health and my baby.

How Your Support Will Help

I am currently looking for a new, safe employment opportunity, but right now I have no safety net. I am asking for your kindness to help cover basic living costs for myself and my son over the next couple of months while I get back on my feet.

Your donations will go directly toward:

Rent and essential utilities to keep a roof over our heads.

Baby essentials (food, nappies, and clothes).

Bridging the gap until I can secure a safe new job.

Anything you can spare—even the price of a coffee—or simply sharing this link would mean the absolute world to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading our story and for your kindness.
