Short Story

Fork in the Road Jewelry is a handmade business built from second chances, creativity, and the belief that we can choose a new direction.

After facing my own struggles and setbacks, I decided it was time to turn my life in a different direction and build something meaningful with my own hands.

I create unique jewelry from vintage silverware, heirloom pieces, and forgotten treasures, giving each one a new life and a new story.

I’m raising $5,000 to purchase tools, materials, supplies, packaging, and marketing to launch my business.

But Fork in the Road isn’t just about building something for myself. 10% of every jewelry sale will be donated to a charity chosen by the customer.

Every piece represents a second chance—and every purchase can help create another one.

Story

My goal is to raise $5,000 to launch Fork in the Road Jewelry — a handmade business built from second chances, creativity, and the belief that beautiful things can come from broken roads.

Life hasn’t always gone the way I planned.

I’ve been through struggles that changed me, setbacks that knocked me down, and times when simply trying to get through the day felt like an accomplishment. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve had to face things about myself and my life that weren’t easy. There were times when I honestly wondered if I would ever find my way back to the person I wanted to be.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something:

Being at a fork in the road means you still get to choose which direction you take.

That idea became the inspiration for Fork in the Road Jewelry.

I’ve always loved finding things that other people overlook—especially vintage jewelry, old silverware, forgotten treasures, and pieces with history behind them. I started imagining what could happen if those things were given a second life.

An old spoon could become a beautiful ring.

A piece of vintage silver could become something someone wears every day.

Something that once belonged to someone else could become part of a completely new story.

And that is what I want every piece of Fork in the Road Jewelry to represent:

Second chances. New beginnings. Memories. And the beauty of becoming something new.

Every piece will be handmade by me. I want customers to know that they aren’t simply buying something mass-produced from a factory. They’re buying something that I personally created, something unique, and something that carries a little bit of my story with it.

🌿 But I don’t want this business to only help me.

One of the most important parts of my vision is giving back.

Once Fork in the Road begins making sales, I plan to donate 10% of every sale to a charity chosen by the customer.

That means when someone buys a piece of my jewelry, they can choose a charity that means something to them.

Maybe it’s an animal rescue.

Maybe it’s a food pantry.

Maybe it’s a children’s charity.

Maybe it’s an organization that helped their family.

The customer gets to choose.

I want every piece sold to have a ripple effect—to help me build a new life while also helping someone else.

💰 What will the $5,000 help me do?

I’m asking for help raising $5,000 in startup funding so I can turn this idea into a real business.

The money will help me purchase:

• Jewelry-making tools and equipment
• Vintage silverware and materials
• Jewelry findings, chains, stones, and supplies
• Packaging and shipping materials
• Photography and product presentation supplies
• Business and startup expenses
• Marketing and advertising
• Online selling and marketplace costs
• Supplies to create inventory before my first major sales

I’m not asking you to simply fund a dream.

I’m asking you to help me build something.

Something I can work on with my own hands.

Something I can grow.

Something that can eventually support me.

And something that gives back.

I know $5,000 may sound like a lot, but every contribution gets me closer. $5, $10, $20—it all adds up. And if you aren’t able to donate, sharing this fundraiser could help more than you realize.

I’m starting this business because I don’t want my hardest moments to be the thing that defines me.

I want what I build after those moments to define me.

I want to look at every piece of jewelry I make and remember that I chose to keep going.

That I chose a different road.

That I took the things life handed me and tried to turn them into something beautiful.

🛣️ That’s what Fork in the Road means to me.

It’s the moment when you stop looking behind you and decide where you’re going next.

If you believe in second chances, small businesses, handmade art, or simply believe that people can change their direction and create something better, I would be incredibly grateful for your support.

Help me take this next step.

Help me turn my Fork in the Road into a new beginning.

And when this business grows, I hope you’ll be able to look back and know that you were part of the reason it happened.

❤️ Thank you for believing in me.
